Desde el punto de vista de un ingeniero en sistemas…

Internet ha ayudado a difundir la información a nivel mundial, los motores de búsqueda permiten que cualquiera tenga acceso a todo el material publicado y gracias a los algoritmos de búsqueda ya no tardamos tanto tiempo para encontrar lo que realmente estamos buscando. Es agobiante el monto de información que se genera gracias a la tecnología. Pareciera que si se le da la espalda por un minuto jamás se logrará estar a la vanguardia, es tanto lo que se genera a diario que no se tiene tiempo suficiente para asimilarlo. Incluso se puede vislumbrar un programa que nos ayude a eliminar ese tiempo de búsqueda, un programa que nos estudie y después imite nuestro proceso de razonamiento y ¡nos entregue lo que necesitamos sin que nosotros lo tengamos que buscar! Pareciera que las computadoras están empezando a pensar por nosotros.

¡No debemos olvidar que son herramientas!
La información es muy importante, pero por sí sola no hace nada, no genera nada. Se necesita del conocimiento generado por ésta para crear. Nosotros usamos todo nuestro tiempo para recibir información. Entonces nos convertimos en sistemas que sólo consumen, sistemas pasivos que no proponen nada. Uno termina por estancarse y se olvida que con todo lo que se recibe se puede también crear. El ser humano es consumidor por naturaleza, pero se ha olvidado el aspecto más increíble de la persona: su potencial para crear.

¡Se nos ha olvidado la capacidad creadora del ser humano!
Se debería explotar más la ambición creadora al consumir, que la ambición por consumir más.

From a systems engineer’s point of view…

Internet has helped spread information worldwide. Search engines make information available for everyone and thanks to search algorithms we don’t take up so much time finding what we really need. The amount of data generated thanks to technology has become overwhelming. It seems that if you turn your back on it you’ll never be able to stay on track. So much information is generated daily that we do not have enough time to absorb it. You could even start thinking of software that reduces the time spent in the search process. This software would study us and then imitate our thinking process so that it could deliver the data we need without us having to look for it! It looks like computers are beginning to think for us.

We should never forget computers are just tools!
Information is very important but useless by itself, it does not generate anything. Knowledge generated with information is needed in order to create. We use up all our time receiving information, thus, we become consumers, passive consumers that do not generate anything. We end up alienated and forget that we are able to create with everything we are receiving. Human beings are consumers by nature, but we have left aside the most important aspect of the person: their creativity.

We have forgotten the creative capacity of the human being!
We should favour creative ambition with consumption instead of the ambition for simply consuming.
